My Alter Ego from the Middle Ages

The hobby that takes up much of my time and money is the Society for Creative Anachronism. Within this group I am known as Madelein Ceréis de Toulouse, a 15th Century Frenchwoman of Spanish ancestry.

I belong to the Barony of Southron Gaard in the fair Kingdom of Caid. I have been Chatelaine, Seneschal, and Exchequer for this group over the past seven years, and am currently the local Minister for Children. In March 1996 I was greatly privileged to be made a member of the Order of the Pelican.

My interests are:

  • Embroidery
    • Split Stitch
    • Counted thread (especially Blackwork)
  • Sewing
  • Dancing
  • Games
    • Backgammon
    • Playing with children
  • Music
    • Singing
    • Playing recorder
    • Playing guitar
Madelein's Arms

if you want to talk to me about any interests you share, or if you have any tips and ideas about working with children in the SCA.
